Using the Timeshift Mode function

If you missed a live broadcast, you can see from the recorded broadcast using this feature.
When the Timeshift Mode is set to Auto, the TV stores the channel you watch currently to record automatically.
When the Timeshift Mode is set to Manual, if you press the
�
(Play) button, the TV stores the channel from the point of
view you want to record.

Recorded videos are DRM (digital r ights management) protected and c annot be played on a PC or other TVs, nor c an
they be played when the main board of the T V is changed.

Data broadcasts cannot be recorde d.

The availability of both recording a nd the Timeshift Mode fu nction may differ depend ing on picture quality and the
free space on the hard disk drive.
x
If you press the ▲ or ▼ button, you can see the cur rent channel being on air, or can see th e start point the recorded
broadcast.
x
The Timeshift Mode operate s for a maximum of 90 minutes.
x
After the Timeshift Mode fu nction has run for the maximu m time, the time information will be f ixed to “00:00:00.”
Note that if you have paused the recording the T V will automatically resum e playback.
x
If the 5% free memory space limit of the USB s torage device is reached, the curr ent recording process will b e closed.
x
When recording is performe d by both the PVR (Personal Video Re corder) function and a devic e that supports the
HDMI-CEC feature, recording by the PVR f unction takes precedence.
x
During a playback or the Timeshi ft Mode, the picture will be displ ayed according to the display setti ngs of the TV.
x
If you change the input source durin g recording, the screen will go bl ank until the change is complete d.
x
An application which suppor ts neither the recording nor th e Timeshift Mode functi on will close automatically if yo u
try to use it during either functi on.
x
A message may appear in front of the app lication window indicating th at the recording or the Timeshi ft Mode
function is closed.
x
Timeshift Mode function is n ot supported for radio chann els.
x
The recording and the Timeshif t Mode functions are disab led for channels locked with C hild Lock.

If the USB device has failed the Devic e Performance Test, the USB device m ust go through the Device Format a nd
Device Performance Test again befo re you record with the Guide or Cha nnel Manager.

The recording and Timeshif Mo det functions can only be use d with a USB storage device that comp leted the
Device Performance Test.

If you attempt the recording or Timesh ift Mode function with a dev ice that did not have the Device Perf ormance
Test, the function will not start.
x
If you press � (REC) on the remote control while th e Channel Manager scree n is being displayed or record wi th
Timer Recording, the TV may sta rt or stop recording 1 or 2 secon ds later than you intended due to the time ne eded
to process the command.
x
If a USB device dedicated to recording is c onnected, existing Timeshi ft Mode or recording file s that were saved
abnormally will automaticall y be deleted.
x
If you switch to external input mode duri ng recording, the recording wil l continue but the � (REC) button will b e
disabled.
x
If any function that turns off the T V (Sleep Timer, Off timer, etc.) is set for a time that confli cts with recording, the TV
will be turned off once the record ing is complete.
