CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT
WARNING: The chain will be moving during most of this procedure. Wear your protective equipment and observe all safety precautions. The chain must not move at idle speed. The carburetor has been carefully set at the factory. Adjustments may be necessary if you notice any of the fol- lowing conditions:
SChain moves at idle. See IDLE
SSaw will not idle. See IDLE
Idle Speed--T
Allow engine to idle. If the chain moves, idle is too fast. If the engine stalls, idle is too slow. Adjust speed until engine runs without chain move- ment (idle too fast) or stalling (idle too slow). The idle speed screw is located in the area above the primer bulb and is labeled T.
STurn idle screw (T) clockwise to in- crease engine speed.
STurn idle screw (T) counterclockwise to decrease engine speed.
