Listening to sound from an external unit
1Press the AUX button.
2Start playback on the external unit and press the (
) or ( ) button to adjust the input level.
Adjust this level when "OVER" appears or when the sound
volume is too low.
3Rotate the VOLUME control on the main unit or press the
VOLUME or button on the remote control to adjust the
sound volume.

Manual recording
You can start recording by yourself whilst listening to the playback
from other equipment (tuner or CD).
1Press the AUX button.
2Start playback on the external unit and press the (
) or ( ) button to adjust the recordin g level.
Adjust this level when "OVER" appears or when the sound
volume is too low.
Adjust the recording level, and then stop the external unit.
3Load up to three recordable MiniDiscs or a tape.
4Press the MD REC or TAPE REC button.
5Press the button.
When there are three recordable MiniDiscs in the unit, con-
tinuous recording will start from MD 1 and continue in order.
Recording on a tape will stop after the recording has filled
one side.
6Start playback on the external unit.
When the available recording time is consumed, the recording
will stop automatically.
If the time specified for the other equipment to play is less
than the available recording time, press the button to stop
the recording.
To stop recording:
Press the button.
Note:
If the recording level is too low, the recorded sound will be
too low. If it is set too high, the recording may be distorted.
The range over which the sound strength will vary is quite
wide, particularly on digitally recorded tapes like DAT. There-
fore, adjust the recording level so that it is not set too high.
