Description of discs

"Types of playable discs

The unit can play back discs bearing any of the following marks:
!For unplayable discs, see page 13.
Copy Protection:
This unit supports Macrovision copy protection.
On DVD discs that include a copy protection code, if the contents of
the DVD disc are copied using a VCR, the copy protection code pre-
vents the videotape copy from playing normally.

(*1):Discs including DV D-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW may not be
played back due to properties and scratches on the disc, dirty
optical pickup lens, etc.
(*2):Only t he audio on the CDV can be played.
(*3):The CD -R/CD-RW may not be played back properly depending
on the recording equipment or the disc.
(*4):If the s ampling frequency is 44.1 or 48.1 kHz and the fixed bit
rate is 128 kbps or higher, MPEG 1 Audio Layer 3 (MP3) files
can be played. However, some of them may not be played de-
pending on their conditions or formats.
(*5):JPE G or JPG picture discs also play on this unit. However, pic-
tures may not be clear (depends on resolution and recording
method).
