EMS

(Enhanced Messaging Service)Besides (formatted) texts, you can also send•pictures (bitmaps),•sounds,•animations (sequence of 4 pic- tures)using the EMS.

The segments specified above can be together or transmitted individually in an SMS. With EMS, pictures and sounds can also be sent (e.g. as screensavers and ringtones). This can cause messages that exceed the length of a single SMS. In this case a single message is made up of a number of concatenated SMS mess- ages.

Extending numbers in the Phonebook

When entering a phone number in the Phonebook, digits can be replaced by a question mark "?":
