Instructions for the user

8. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

8.1 Cleaning the glazed ceramic hob

Before any intervention, disconnect the power supply of the device.

The cooking hob should be regularly cleaned; best after every use, once the residual heat signal lamps have gone off.

NEVER USE A STEAM JET TO CLEAN THE APPLIANCE.

Smudges from aluminium-bottom pans can be easily cleaned off with a cloth dampened in vinegar.

Remove any burnt residues after cooking with the scraper provided; rinse with water and wipe dry with a clean cloth. Regular use of the scraper considerably reduces the need for chemical detergents for the daily cleaning of the hob.

Never use abrasive or corrosive detergents (e.g. cleaning powders, oven sprays, spot-removers, wire sponges).

8.2 Cleaning stainless steel

8.2.1 Ordinary Daily Cleaning

To clean and preserve the stainless steel surfaces, always use only specific products that do not contain abrasives or chlorine-based acids. How to use: pour the product on a damp cloth and wipe the surface, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth or deerskin.

The Smeg A42C-2 and A42C-5 are two exemplary models from the reputable Italian brand Smeg, which is famed for its stylish kitchen appliances that marry functionality with elegant design. These cookers are designed to meet the needs of modern home chefs, featuring a combination of advanced cooking technologies, ease of use, and distinctive aesthetics.

Both models come equipped with a dual-fuel system, allowing for gas cooking on the hob combined with an electric oven, providing the best of both worlds. The gas burners are designed for efficient heat distribution, enabling rapid cooking times and precise temperature control. This setup is ideal for a variety of cooking methods, from searing and frying to slow cooking and baking.

The A42C-2 and A42C-5 feature multiple cooking zones, with the A42C-5 offering additional burners for those who require more versatility in their cooking. Smeg's signature cast iron grates provide excellent stability for pots and pans, ensuring that they remain in place even when cooking at high temperatures.

In terms of the oven, both models utilize Smeg’s Thermo Vent technology. This ensures an even temperature throughout the oven cavity by circulating hot air efficiently, which is essential for baking perfect pastries and roasting meats. The electric oven also boasts a range of cooking functions, including fan-assisted cooking, conventional baking, and grilling, allowing users to choose the best option for their culinary tasks.

Another notable feature is the energy efficiency of these models, with an A energy rating that not only reduces environmental impact but also cuts down on electricity bills. The pyrolitic self-cleaning function in the oven simplifies maintenance, as it heats the internal surfaces to a high temperature to incinerate food residues, leaving only ash that can be easily wiped away.

The Smeg A42C-2 and A42C-5 models are also designed with aesthetics in mind. Their retro styling, characterized by rounded edges and a polished finish, makes them a stunning addition to any kitchen. Available in a variety of colors, these cookers can complement diverse kitchen styles, from modern to vintage-inspired designs.
