Playing games

This model of the PLAYSTATION®3 system is designed to play PLAYSTATION®3 format software and has limited backward compatibility. This system is not compatible with and will not play PlayStation®2 format software. Some PlayStation® format software may play on this system. For more information, visit www.us.playstation.com.

Starting a gameWhen you insert the disc, the game starts automatically.

Insert the disc with the label side facing up.

Quitting a gameDuring gameplay, press the PS button on the wireless controller. Thenselect (Game) (Quit Game) in the home menu to quit the game.

Hint

Depending on the type of software, such as PlayStation® format software, (Quit Game) may not be displayed when the PS button is pressed. In this case, select "Quit Game" from the screen that is displayed.
