FRONT	Front speaker distance from the
5.0 m/17 ft	listening position can be set in
	0.2 meters (1.0 ft) increments from
	1.0 to 15.0 meters (3.0 to 50.0 ft).
CENTER	Center speaker distance can be
5.0 m/17 ft	moved up to 1.6 meters (5.0 ft)
	forward closer to the listening
	position, in 0.2 meters (1.0 ft)
	increments.
REAR	Rear speaker distance can be moved
3.4 m/12 ft	up to 4.6 meters (15.0 ft) closer to
	your listening position from the
	front speaker position, in 0.2 meter
	(1.0 ft) increments.

Notes

•In SPEAKER SETUP, the North American model’s OSD displays both metric and imperial measurements.The other model display metric measurements only. The manual shows both.

•When you set the distance, the sound cuts off for a moment.

•If each of the front or rear speakers are not placed at an equal distance from your listening position, set the distance according to the closest speaker.

•Do not place the rear speakers farther away from your listening position than the front speakers.

xBALANCE

You can vary the balance of the left and right speakers as follows. Be sure to set “TEST TONE” to “ON” for easy adjustment.

The default setting are underlined.

FRONT	Adjust the balance between the
CENTER	front left and right speakers (You
	can adjust from center 6 step left or
	right).
REAR	Adjust the balance between the rear
CENTER	left and right speakers (You can
	adjust from center 6 step left or
	right).

xLEVEL

You can vary the level of each speaker as follows. Be sure to set “TEST TONE” to “ON” for easy adjustment.

The default settings are underlined.

CENTER	Adjusts the level of the center
0 dB	speaker (–6 dB to +6 dB, 1 dB
	increments).
REAR 0 dB	Adjusts the level of the rear
	speakers (–6 dB to +6 dB,
	1 dB increments).
SUBWOOFER	Adjusts the level of the
0 dB	subwoofer (–6 dB to +6 dB,
	1 dB increments).

To adjust the volume of all the speakers at one time

Use the VOLUME control on the system or press VOL +/–.

xTEST TONE

The speakers will emit a test tone to adjust “BALANCE” and “LEVEL.” The default settings are underlined.

OFF	The test tone is not emitted from the
	speakers.
ON	The test tone is emitted from each
	speaker in sequence while adjusting
	balance or level.
	When you select one of the
	“SPEAKER SETUP” items, the test
	tone is emitted from both left and
	right speakers simultaneously.
