Printing from an application software

You can use an application software to print images stored in your computer with the Digital Photo Printer DPP-EX7.

Notes

Before printing, make sure to connect the USB connectors of the printer and the computer. If you connect it after you start printing, the printer or the computer may not work properly.

•This section explains the settings and operations with a typical application as an example. Depending on the application, print settings and operations may differ. For the details, refer to the manual of your application.

•The dialog boxes in this section are those in Mac OS X (v10.2). They may differ depending on the operation system.

•To obtain the expected print performances, we suggest you use an application software that allows you to check the print preview. Use the application software to make the image size to 1644 x 2466 (dots) for the Post Card (4 x 6 inch) size, 1464 x 2064 (dots) for the 3.5 x 5 inch size, and 1137 x 1516 (dots) for the Small (3.5 x 4 inch) size. Also make the resolution to 403 dpi. Even after these adjustments, an image may be cut off or proper printed performances may not be obtained depending on the application software you use. If this occurs, adjust the image size smaller.

1 Connect the printer to your computer and turn on the printer.

In a while, the printer is detected and ready for printing. When the printer is ready, the “DPP-EX5” is displayed in the printer list of the “Print Center”.

2 Start the application software that you use for printing, and select the image to be printed.

When using Mac OS 9.x

Open “Chooser” from the Apple menu, click “DPP-EX7”, and then close the “Chooser”.

3 Click “Page Setup” from the “File” menu of the application.

The “Page Setup” dialog box appears.
