Cannot record on a “Memory Stick Duo”.

You are using the “Memory Stick Duo” with the write-protect switch, and the switch is set to the LOCK position. Set the switch to the recording position (page 97).

The “Memory Stick Duo” is full. Delete unnecessary images (t step 6 in “Read This First”).

Insert a “Memory Stick PRO Duo” (page 21) when recording movies with the image size set to [640(Fine)].

Cannot format a “Memory Stick Duo”.

“Memory Stick PRO Duo” is not recognized by a computer with a “Memory Stick” slot.

Check whether the computer and the card reader support “Memory Stick PRO Duo”. Users of computers and card readers made by companies other than Sony should contact those manufacturers.

If “Memory Stick PRO Duo” is not supported, connect the camera to the computer (pages 60 to 62). The computer recognizes the “Memory Stick PRO Duo”.

Internal memory

The camera or your computer cannot play back the data in the internal memory.

There is a “Memory Stick Duo” inserted in the camera. Remove it (t step 4 in “Read This First”).

Cannot record images using the internal memory.

There is a “Memory Stick Duo” inserted in the camera. Remove it (t step 4 in “Read This First”).

The free capacity of the internal memory does not increase even when you copy the data stored in the internal memory to a “Memory Stick Duo”.

The data is not deleted after copying. Execute the [Format] command (page 52) to format the internal memory after copying the data.

Cannot copy the data stored in the internal memory to a “Memory Stick Duo”.

The “Memory Stick Duo” is full. Check the capacity (64 MB or more recommended).
