Cleaning the LCD screen

If fingerprints or dust make the LCD screen dirty, we recommend using a LCD cleaning kit (not supplied) to clean the LCD screen.

Cleaning the video head

To ensure normal recording and clear pictures, clean the video heads.

When you playback/record in the Digital8 system

The video head may be dirty if

mosaic-pattern noise appears on the playback picture.

playback pictures do not move.

playback pictures are hardly visible.

playback pictures do not appear.

the x indicator and “ CLEANING CASSETTE” message appear alternately on the LCD screen.

or

When you play back in the Hi8/standard 8 (analog) system

The video head may be dirty if

playback pictures contain noise.

playback pictures are hardly visible.

playback pictures do not appear.

If the above problem occurs, clean the video heads with a Sony V8-25CLD cleaning cassette (not supplied). Check the picture and if the above problem persists, repeat cleaning.
