Troubleshooting (Continued)
The recording does not start when you press the record button.
• The playback screen is displayed. Finish playback operation (p. 45).
•T here is no empty space on the memory card. Replace the memory card with new one, delete
unnecessary images (p.61) or format the memory card (p. 62).
• Total number of movie scenes exceeds the recordable capacity of your camcorder (p. 96).
Delete unnecessary images (p.6 1).
• The temperature of your camcorder is extremely high. Turn off your camcorder and leave it
for a while in a cool place.
• The temperature of your camcorder is extremely low. Turn off your camcorder and leave it
for a while in a warm place.
• Something wrong happened to the memory card. Repair the image database file (p. 64).
The handle zoom does not work.
• Set the handle zoom switch to FIX or VAR (p. 29).
The access lamp remains lit even after recording was stopped.
• Your camcorder is recording the scene you have just shot on the memory card.
The imaging field looks different.
• The imaging field may look different depending on the condition of your camcorder. This is
not a malfunction.
The actual recording time for movies is less than the expected recording time
of the memory card.
• Depending on the recording conditions, the time available for recording may be short er, for
example when recording a fast moving object, etc. (p. 95).
The camcorder does not keep the setting changes.
• Some menu items return to the default settin g when the power is turned off (p. 67).
• The LCD backlight setting and the EXPANDED FOCUS s etting are not stored.
• You disconnected the power sources when the POWER switch was set to ON. Before
disconnecting the battery or the AC Adaptor, set the POWER switch to OFF and make sure
that the access lamp is turned off.
There is a time difference between the point when the record button is pressed
and the point that the recording movie is started or stopped actually.
•On your camcorder, there may be a slight time difference between the point where you press
the record button and the actual point that recording movie sta rts/stops. This is not a
malfunction.
