Intelligent Auto
The camera analyzes the subject, and allows you to shoot with appropriate setti ngs.
• [Fl ash Mode] is set to [Autoflash] or [Flash Off].
• You ca n shoot even if the camera has not recognized the scen e.
• When [Face Detection] is set to [Off], the [Portrait], [Backlight P ortrait], [Night Portrait], and [Baby]
scenes are not recognized.
In Superior Auto mode, the camera shoots with higher quality than Intelligent Auto
mode and perform composite shooting as necessary.
In Program Auto mode, the camera shoots with various functions, such as white balance,
ISO, etc., adjusted.
• In Su perior Auto mode, the recording process takes long er, since the camera must make a composite
image.

2Point the camera to the subject.
When the camera recognizes the scene, the Scene
Recognition icon and guide appear on the screen.
The camera recognizes (Night Scene), (Tripod
Night Scene), (Night Portrait), (Backlight),
(Backlight Portrait), (Portrait), (Landscape),
(Macro), (Spotlight), (Low Brightness), or
(Baby).

zPhoto Creativity

Pressing the center of the control wheel in [Intelligent Auto] or [Superior Auto] mo de
accesses the Photo Creativity menu. Using it, you can change the settings with easy
operations and achieve creative photography (page32).
