If your Clie is a different model number, use these instructions as a reference and consult your owner’s manual or a technician if necessary.

Remove the two “Y Head” three pointed screws below the label on the back of the device, as shown, using the included mini flathead screwdriver. (Your tools may look different than the picture shown.) You can also use a “Y Head” screwdriver if you have one. Set the screws aside for reassembly.
Remove the two Phillips screws from the upper sides of the device, as shown, using the same mini flathead screwdriver or a 000 Phillips screwdriver. Set the screws aside for reassembly.

Use the plastic flathead screwdriver or any small flathead screwdriver (plastic recommended - metal may scratch) to separate the back case from the front by CAREFULLY prying around the device. There are clips on all sides of the device holding the front and back together. Be careful not to break them when prying.
Lift off the back cover. Remove ONLY the Phillips screw shown in the picture above, then fold back the protective copper foil (taking care not to tear or damage it) so that the battery can be reached. Set the screw aside for reassembly.
