14. Bluetooth®

Using Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a short-range communications technology that
allows you to connect wirelessly to a number of Bluetooth
devices,such as headsets, hands-free car kits, and Bluetooth-
enabled handhelds,PCs, and mobile phones. The Bluetooth
communication range is usually up to approximately 10 meters
(30 feet).

Turning Bluetooth On and Off

By default,your phones Bluetooth feature is turned off. Turning
Bluetooth on makes your phone availableto other in-range
Bluetooth devices.To make your phone visible to other devices,
you must also set your phones visibility to other than Hidden.
(See page 129.)
1. Select >Settings > Bluetooth > On/Off.
2. Select Onto enable Bluetooth. Select Off to disable Bluetooth.
Note:Enabling the Bluetooth settings affects the phone’s talk and
standby times.

Bluetooth Status Indicators

The following icons show your Bluetooth connection status at a
glance:
indicates the Bluetooth feature is active.It turns to green
when connected to a Bluetooth device.
indicates yourphone is discoverable by another Bluetooth
device.
indicates your phone is communicating with a Bluetooth
device.
indicates the handset is connected to/communicating
with a Bluetooth device via Hands-free Profile (HFP).
indicates the handset is connected to/communicating
with a Bluetooth device via Advanced Audio Distribution
Profile (A2DP).
indicates the handset is connected to/communicating
with a Bluetooth device via both Hands-free Profile (HFP)
and Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).
