Canal Plus
S22 PAY-TV/Canal Plus
is always recorded
scrambled.
tMake sure the Canal Plus Scart cable is plugged in securely.
tBe sure that DECODER/LINE3 is set to DECODER in the OTHER
OPTIONS menu (see page 70).
tBe sure that this channel is set as PAY-TV/CANAL+ in the TUNER
menu (see page 36).
Line selection
S23 You cannot select
LINE3. tBe sure that DECODER/LINE3 is set to LINE3 in the OTHER
OPTIONS menu (see page 70).
Remote
commander
S24 The remote
commander does not
operate.
tMake sure you are pointing the remote commander at the remote
sensor on the VCR.
tReplace all of the batteries in the remote commander wi th new ones
if they are weak.
tMake sure the TV/VIDEO remote control switch is set correctly.
S25 You cannot control
your TV. tSet your TVs code number. The code number may change when
you replace the batteries for the remote commander (see page 8).
Cleaning
S26 The VCR needs to be
cleaned. tClean the cabinet, panel and controls with a dry, soft cloth, or a soft
cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use
any type of solvent, such as alcohol or benzene.
Clock
S27 The clock has
stopped and “–: –”
lights up in the
display window.
tThe clock stops if the VCR is disconnected from the mains for
more than one hour. Reset the clock and timer if needed (see page
21).
Power
S28 The ?/1 ON/
STANDBY switch
does not function.
tConnect the mains lead to the mains securely.
S29 The power is turned
on but the VCR does
not operate.
tMoisture condensation has occurred. Turn the power off, unplug
the mains lead and leave the VCR to dry for over three hours.
S30 The tape is ejected
when you press ?/1
ON/STANDBY.
tYou have set a timer recording, but the tape on which you want to
record is protected (or contains protected recordings). Unlock the
protection or use another tape or replace the safety tab (see p age
95).
S31 The display does not
lit when the VCR is
in standby mode.
tThe VCR is in power save mode. Set the POWER SAVE option to
OFF in the OTHER OPTIONS menu (see page 70).
S32 POWER SAVE is set
to ON but the display
remains lit in standby
mode.
tThe display is always lit if the VCR is in timer standby mode. For
more details regarding the energy saving function, see page 70.
