Nevertheless, each listening environment has many variables, like wall reflections, and you may obtain better results using “BEHD” if your speakers are located high above the listening position, even if they are to the immediate left and right.

Therefore, although it may result in a setting contrary to the above explanation, we recommend that you playback multi channel surround encoded software and select the setting that provides a good sense of spaciousness and that best succeeds in forming a cohesive space between the surround sound from the surround speakers and the sound of the front speakers. If you are not sure which sounds best, select “BEHD” and then use the speaker distance parameter and speaker level adjustments to obtain proper balance.

xSP CROSSOVER > XXX Hz (Speaker crossover frequency)

Initial setting: 100 Hz

Lets you set the bass crossover frequency of speakers set to “SMALL” in the SPEAKER SET UP menu. You can adjust from 40 Hz to 160 Hz in 10 Hz steps.

You can adjust the distribution of the center channel signal, generated through the Dolby Pro Logic II decoding, to the L/R speakers.

xDIMENSION F_I_S (Dimension control)

Initial setting: midpoint (0)

Lets you perform further adjustments for Dolby Pro Logic II Music mode decoding. You can set this parameter only when A.F.D. mode is set to “PRO LOGIC II MUSIC” (page 33).

You can adjust the difference between the front channels and the surround channels.

xPANORAMA MODE (Panorama mode)

Lets you perform further adjustments for Dolby Pro Logic II Music mode decoding. You can set this parameter only when A.F.D. mode is set to “PRO LOGIC II MUSIC” (page 33).

ON

Lets you enjoy the surround sound by spreading the sound field of front speakers to the left and right of the listening position (panorama mode).

OFF

Panorama mode is not activated.

xFRONT REVERB (Front reverberation)

This parameter is especially for “D.CONCERT HALL A/B” (page 35). This parameter lets you adjust the amount of reverberations to add to the front signals according to the original reverberations in the source.

STD

Normally, select “STD”.

WET

Select to increase front reverberations.

xSCREEN DEPTH (Screen depth)

Lets you create the sensation that the sound of the front speakers comes from inside the screen in your listening room, like theatres.

ON

Lets you create the sensation that the sound comes from a very large screen with a great amount of screen depth.

OFF

This function is not activated.

This parameter is only available for Cinema Studio EX modes.

xVIR.SPEAKERS (Virtual speakers)

This parameter is especially for the Cinema Studio EX modes (page 34).
