1)When the sound field is KARAOKE, this parameter adjusts the vocal presence. The higher the setting, the less dominant the vocal sound.

2)The adjustment of this parameter does not affect the level of the bass frequencies sent to the subwoofer from the front, center, or rear channels via the bass redirection circuitry. Setting this parameter to 0dB outputs the full LFE signal at the mix level determined by the recording engineer. Selecting MUTE mutes the sound of the LFE channel from the subwoofer. However, the low frequency sounds of the front, center, and rear speakers are output from the subwoofer according to the setting of each speaker (page 19).

3)Setting this parameter to OFF reproduces the sound track with no dynamic range compression. STD reproduces the sound track with the full dynamic range as intended by the recording engineer. MAX provides a dramatic compression of the dynamic range.

Adjusting surround sound parameters (STR-DE715/DE615/D660Z/D560Z only)

Change the surround parameters to fit your listening situation. See the chart on page 26 for parameters you can adjust in each sound field.

To adjust the parameters of the PRO LOGIC sound field, see “Dolby Pro Logic (STR-DE715/DE615/ D660Z/D560Z only)” on page 20.

1Press DPC MODE repeatedly until the SUR indicator lights up.

2Use the digital processing control buttons ( / ) to select the parameter you want.

3Use the digital processing control buttons ( / ) to adjust the level of the parameter.

The adjusted parameters are stored automatically.

Note

If you make new adjustments to a sound field, the previous settings are replaced by the new ones.

Resetting customized sound fields to the factory settings
