Selecting Display Modes

You can select which display to be used as the primary monitor when an external display (desktop monitor, etc.) is connected to your computer.

If the model you purchased is VGN-FE700 Series, the procedure for selecting a display depends on the video controller used in the computer. See the online Specifications for detailed information on the video controller.

If you want to work on your computer screen and the external display at the same time, see Using the Multiple Monitors Function (page 128) for more information.

To select a display

VGN-FE700 Series Models with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator

1Right-click on the desktop to display the context menu.

2Click the menu item for graphic properties.

3Follow the on-screen instructions to change the settings.

You may not be able to display the same contents on your computer screen and the external display or projector at the same time, depending on the type of your external display or projector.

Before turning on your computer, turn on the peripheral devices.

Both Models with the NVIDIA video controller

1Right-click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel from the menu.

2Click the Display icon.

3Click Change Display Configuration.

4Follow the on-screen instructions to change the settings.
