Protecting the Hard Disk
If your computer is equipped with a built-in hard disk drive, then it h as the VAIO HDD Protection utility preinstalled for
customizing your settings for protecting your hard disk driv e against shock hazards. You can select the sensiti vity level of the
built-in shock sensor to set the appropriate protection level.

Be aware that the solid state drive is not included in the scope of the VAIO HDD Protection utility.

Activating VAIO HDD Protection

To protect your hard disk drive against shock hazards, you must first activate the VAIO HDD Protection.

To activate VAIO HDD Protection

1Click Start, All Programs, and VAIO Control Center.
2Click Security and Hard Disk Drive Protection Settings.
3Select the Activate hard disk drive protection check box.
4Select one of the desired sensitivity level.
5Click OK.
