Sound
On-screen display does not
appear.
“Status” on the MENU SETTING menu has been set to “Off.”
cSet “Status” on the MENU SETTING menu to “On” (see
page34).
Color balance is incorrect. • The picture has not been adjusted properly.
cAdjust the picture (see page28).
• The projector is set to the wrong color system.
cSet “Color System” on the SET SETTING menu to match the
color system being input (see page32).
The picture is too dark. • Contrast or brightness has not been adjusted properl y.
cAdjust the contrast or brightness on the “Adjust Picture...” menu
properly (see page28).
• The lamp has burnt out or is dim.
cReplace the lamp with a new one (see page 39).
The picture is not clear. •The picture is out of focus.
cAdjust the focus (see page 21).
• Condensation has accumulated on the lens.
cLeave the projector for about two hours with the power on.
The image extends beyond
the screen.
• The APA key has been pressed even though there are black edges
around the image.
cDisplay the full image on the screen and press the APA key.
cAdjust “Shift” on the INPUT SETTING menu properly (see
page30).
• This input signal cannot be projected as the frequency is out of the
acceptable range of the projector.
cInput a signal that is within the range of the frequency.
• The resolution setting of the output signal of the comput er is too
high.
cSet the output setting to XGA (see page18).
The picture flickers. “Dot Phase” on the INPUT SETTING menu has not been adjusted
properly.
cAdjust “Dot Phase” on the INPUT SETTING menu properly (see
page30).
Symptom Cause and Remedy
No sound. •A cable is disconnected or the connections are wrong.
cCheck that the proper connections have been made (see
page17).
• The audio connecting cable used is incorrect.
cUse a no-resistance stereo audio cable (see page 18).
• The sound is not adjusted properly.
cAdjust the sound with the VOLUME+/– key on the Remote
Commander or adjust “Volume” on the PICTURE SETTING
menu (see page 29).
