Now the carburetor is pre-heated by the preheater plate – this helps prevent carburetor icing.

NAt temperatures above +70 °F (+20 °C): always return the slide to the summer position –

otherwise risk of engine malfunction due to overheating!

If engine trouble occurs, first return the slide from winter to summer position.

Air filter system

NRetrofit new air filter if necessary – see "Air filter system"

At temperatures below +14 °F (-10 °C)

Under extreme winter conditions (temperatures below -10 °C, powdered or drifting snow), it is recommended to use the "cover plate mounting kit" (special accessory). The mounting kit keeps out powdered or drifting snow.

Nif the chain saw is extremely cold (frost formation) – after starting, bring the engine up to operating temperature at medium speed (disengage chain brake!)

When the mounting kit is used, the slide must be in the winter position.

If engine trouble occurs, first check whether use of the cover plate is necessary.
