5-6 Adding PCI Add-On Cards

The 6016XT-TF (without GPUs installed) can support four full size PCI-E x8 cards in the x16 slots and (with a riser card) one low-profile PCI-E x4 card in a x16 slot.

The 6016GT series servers can (in addition to two NVIDIA Tesla GPU cards) sup- port one low-profile PCI-Express 2.0 x4 card via a riser card installed in the PCI-E x16 slot.

Installing an Add-on Card

1.Begin by removing the PCI slot shield for the slot you wish to populate.

2.Fully seat the card into the riser card, pushing down with your thumbs evenly on both sides of the card.

3.Finish by using a screw to secure the top of the card shield to the chassis. The PCI slot shields protect the serverboard and its components from EMI and aid in proper ventilation, so make sure there is always a shield covering each unused slot.
