SELECTING THE MTS SYSTEM
Make sure ...
•TV/DVD/VHS power must be turned on.

TO SELECT HIFI MODE

1Select “USER’S SET UP”
Press the SETUPbutton on the
remote control.
Press the Arrow Kor Lbutton to
point to “USER’S SETUP ”. Then,
press the Arrow Bbutton.
2Select“VCR AUDIO”
Press the Arrow Kor Lbutton to
point to“VCR AUDIO”. Then, press
the Arrow Bbutton.
3 Select [HIFI]
Press the Arrow Bor sbutton
until [HIFI] appears.
4To return to TV mode
Press the SETUPbutton on the remote control to
return to TVmode.
NOTES:
•Nomally, “HIFI” should be selected for playback-
with HIFI sound.
• When you play non-HIFI tapes, the TV/DVD/VHS
will play automatically in the monaural mode.
•The TV/DVD/VHS records automatically MTS
broadcasts in HIFI stereo sound unless you select
SAPmode recording before you begin recording.

TO SELECT STEREO, SAP, OR MONO

1Select “USER’S SET UP”
Press the “SETUP” button on the
remote control.
Press the Arrow Kor Lbutton to
point to “USER’S SETUP ”.Then,
press the Arrow B
button.
2Select “TV AUDIO”
Press the Arrow Kor Lbutton to
point to“TVAUDIO”. Then, press
the Arrow Bbutton.
3Select [STEREO],[SAP], or [MONO]
Press the Arrow Bor sbutton until [STEREO],
[SAP], or [MONO] appears.
4To return to TV mode
Press the SETUPbutton on the remote control to
return to TVmode.
NOTES:
• You must select the recording mode,either TV
AUDIO [STEREO] or [SAP] when you record a
broadcast.
Refer to “MTS RECORDING/MONITOR MODE”.
• If you select second audio when second audio is not
available, the TV/DVD/VHS will record normal
audio.

TO SELECT MONO MODE

You can change the selection to “MONO” if you
want to listen to HIFI tapes in normal audio play-
back.
1) Press the SETUPbutton on the remote control.
Press the Arrow Kor Lbutton to point to
“USER’S SETUP”.Then, press the Arrow B
button.
2) Press the Arrow Kor Lbutton to point to
“VCR AUDIO”. Then, press Arrow Bbutton.
3) Press the Arrow Bor sbutton until [MONO]
appears.
4) Press the SETUPbutton on the remote control to
return to TVmode.
