Sample Usage of VPD Data/Asset TagFor example, you want to store the inventory number of the network interface card (123-45) in the
asset tag. This is how to do it:
1. To find the code for the asset tag, you need to look at all the VPD data. Start the main program
and select VPD Data/Display VPD Data. Your screen should look similar to the screen in
Fig. 13.
2. The keyword codes are shown in brackets. In this case, the code is YA.
3. Press Esc to return to the VPD Data menu.
4. Now select Add/Modify VPD Data. A dialog window will appear.
5. Enter the code YA and then press Enter. A further dialog window will appear.
6. Enter the inventory number: Invent. No. 123-45 and press Enter.
7. Press Esc to return to the VPD Data menu.
8. You can now check that the entry has been stored. Go to Display VPD Data again.
