Advanced optical and mechanical design technology achieve high image quality in a compact, lightweight zoom

The cutting-edge lens design consists of 16 elements in 12 groups and includes three Molded-Glass Aspherical elements, two LD (Low Dispersion) elements and UXR (Ultra-Extra Re- fractive Index) glass. Together, they correct optical aberrations, while state-of-the-art multi-layer coating significantly minimizes ghosting and flare to deliver images of exceptional clarity. The entire package is kept incredibly compact through the use of advanced mechanical design engineering.

Elegant new style

The rubber grips on the zoom and focus rings have a rectilinear grid pattern that adds sophistication to the design, while the signature Tamron brand ring in tungsten silver enhances its luxurious finish.

VC (Vibration Compensation)

VC (Vibration Compensation) is Tamron’s proprietary image stabilization system. It employs three driving coils that electro- magnetically activate a shake-compensating VC lens group. Since the VC lens elements are held in place only by three ceramic ball bearings, there is smooth movement with little

friction. Even when shooting long-range or under low light, the viewfinder image remains stable and the tracking response is excellent.

PZD (Piezo Drive) for faster, quieter autofocus action

The PZD (Plezo Drive) provides noticeably faster, quieter auto- focus action, allowing users to capture spontaneous moments in crisp images and to continue to shoot even when quiet operation is required. The full-time manual focus system en- ables fine focus adjustments to be made during autofocus shooting whhout having to change the focus mode beforehand.

AFB016N700, AFB016C700, AFB016S700 specifications

The Tamron AFB016S700, AFB016C700, and AFB016N700 are a trio of versatile and high-performance lenses tailored for different camera systems, specifically designed to meet the demands of both amateur and professional photographers. These lenses all share a common foundation of advanced optical engineering and innovative features that help elevate photography to new heights.

One of the standout characteristics of these lenses is their impressive zoom range, which allows photographers to capture a wide variety of subjects without the need for multiple lenses. The Tamron lenses typically feature a focal length range that provides flexibility from wide-angle to telephoto, making them ideal for landscapes, portraiture, and everything in between. This adaptability is complemented by a consistent maximum aperture, which ensures excellent low-light performance and helps create beautiful background blur, also known as bokeh.

Incorporating advanced optical technologies, these lenses are designed to reduce common optical anomalies, such as chromatic aberration and distortion. The use of special lens elements, including low dispersion glass, helps maintain sharpness and clarity across the frame. Moreover, a multi-layer coating is applied to the lens surfaces to minimize flare and ghosting, enhancing contrast and color fidelity in various lighting conditions.

A significant technological advancement in the Tamron AFB016 series is the use of the optical stabilization system, which compensates for camera shake, allowing for sharper images, especially in low-light environments or at longer focal lengths. This feature is particularly valuable for handheld shooting and is a game-changer for photographers who wish to capture crisp images without relying on a tripod.

In terms of autofocus capabilities, the AFB016 lenses include a fast and accurate autofocus motor that ensures quick subject acquisition, making it easier to capture fleeting moments or fast-moving subjects. The HLD (High/Low Torque Modulation Drive) motor technology used in these lenses enables silent and precise focusing, providing an added benefit for videographers looking to achieve smooth focus transitions.

Ergonomically, the lenses are designed with a user-friendly layout, featuring tactile focus and zoom rings for comfortable handling. Additionally, their robust build quality ensures durability and reliability, making them suitable for various shooting environments.

In summary, the Tamron AFB016S700, AFB016C700, and AFB016N700 lenses represent a blend of versatility, technological innovation, and optical excellence, catering to the needs of modern photographers. Their combination of advanced features and excellent performance solidifies their reputation as valuable tools for creative expression in photography.
