14 Section 1B: Getting Started
Unless your device has been preactivated, the Sprint
Connection Manager software application will automatically
detect that no account has been configured when you run it
for the first time. The Sprint Activation Wizard will then
launch and guide you through the activation and
configuration process.
Care and MaintenanceAs with any electronic device, the Sprint Mobile Broadband
USB modem must be handled with care to ensure reliable
operation. Follow these guidelines while using and storing
the USB modem:
䢇
Do not apply adhesive labels to the USB modem. They may
cause the device to become jammed inside the USB port.
䢇The USB connector should fit easily into your USB port.
Forcing the device into a slot may damage the connector.
䢇Protect the USB modem from liquids, dust, and
excessive heat.
䢇Store the USB modem in a safe place, when not in use.
䢇Never force the USB connector in or out of your
computer’s USB port.
䢇When using a laptop computer, always remove the USB
modem from the USB port to avoid any damage. (See
page22 for instructions on proper removal.)
Tip: You can use the Lock Code feature to prevent others from
using your account should your Sprint Mobile Broadband USB
modem be lost or stolen. See page58 for instructions on
using this feature.
