Parental Setup

The Parental Control feature allows you to block programmes according to their rating levels. If a PIN has been set, you will need to enter it before adjusting the level.

1 From the DTV Settings menu, press V to select Parental Control.

2 Press Y or Z to choose the Parentat Setup options (None, Block All, Block G and Above, Block PG and Above, Block M and Above, Block MA and Above, Block AV and Above, Block R and Above).

To view blocked programmes, enter the PIN.

To reactivate the Parental Control, turn the TV off and then on again.

Local Time Settings

This function allows you to manually set the time zone and override the location that you have chosen during Auto Scan. Please note that if you manually change the time zone setting, all existing entries in the programme timer will become invalid as they are still based on the old time zone. It is recommended that you delete all the entries in the programme timer before proceeding with the steps described below.

1 From the DTV Settings menu, press V or U to select Local Time Setting.

2 Press Q, and then press V or U to select Time Zone.

3 Press Y or Z to select the item you want to set. (New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, Australian Capital Territory)

4 Press V to select Time Offset, and then press Y or Z to set as required.

3 Press Y or Z to select Auto or PCM

Auto: Select this when an amplifier equipped with a built-in Dolby Digital or MPEG decoder is connected to the TV.

PCM: Select this when a 2ch digital stereo amplifier is connected to the TV. When you select a Dolby Digital or MPEG audio track, the sound is converted to the PCM (2ch) format and output.

Dynamic Range Control

This feature allows control of audio compression for digital TV programmes excluding those with MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 audio.

When using Dynamic Range Control for Dolby Digital sound, Audio Level Offset is available to adjust the sound level. Using this function can reduce the difference in sound level between MPEG-2 and Dolby Digital audio.

1 Press Mand press Y or Z to select the SOUND menu.

2 Press V or U to select Dynamic Range Control, then press Y or Z to select On or Off.

4 Press Y or Z to adjust the Audio Level Offset from –11 to 0. This setting will be applicable to Dolby Digital audio.

If the Stable Sound and Dynamic Range Control features are both set to On, the effects of each function may not be noticeable.
