Selecting PROGRESSIVE scan

The progressive scan capability provides the highest resolution pictures with less flicker and line structure.

Note:
When you connect the unit to an another TV or a monitor using the Audio/ Video output jacks, do not select Progressive scan On. If you do it the video output does not feed the correct signals and you can not see any picture (only

Preparation: |
| There are two types of source content in pictures recorded in | |

The progressively scanned startup screen will change to the interlaced one, then the “ Off” (Progressive Off : Interlace) display will appear for 2 seconds on the screen.

Notes:
•Some discs may not be played back with the progressive scanning mode correctly because of the disc characteristics or recording condition.
•You cannot make the progressive scanning mode active in following cases.
–The unit is in the TV/VCR mode.
–The disc is played back in the DVD mode.
