WARNING! To prevent accidental start-up, shut off the engine and remove the ignition key before performing any type of engine maintenance.

Periodic inspection and adjustment of the engine is essential if high level performance is to be maintained. Regular maintenance will also ensure a long service life. The required service intervals and the type of maintenance to be performed are described

in the table below. Follow the hourly or calendar intervals, whichever occur first. More frequent service is required when operating in adverse conditions.

Changing Engine Oil

NOTE: Check the oil level before each use and after every five hours of operation to be sure correct oil level is maintained. Refer to Checking Oil Level in the Operation section

1.Drain fuel from tank by running engine until the fuel tank is empty. Be sure fuel fill cap is secure.

2.Place suitable oil collection container under oil drain plug.

3.Remove oil drain plug, Figure 7-1.

7.Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick securely.

CAUTION: Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling

used oil.

NOTE: Please dispose of used motor oil in a manner that is friendly to the environment. Take it to a recyling center or other collection center.

Oil Recommendations

When adding oil to the engine, refer to viscosity chart below. Engine oil capacity is 600 ml (approx. 20 oz.). Do not over-fill. Use a 4-stroke, or an equivalent high detergent, premium quality motor oil certified to meet or exceed U.S. automobile manufacturer’s requirements for service classification SG, SF. Motor oils classified SG, SF will show this designation on the container.
