Belt Replacement
Belt Removal Preparation

1.Remove the chute crank rod from the chute crank assembly by removing the hair pin clip shown in Figure 7-1. Move the chute crank rod away from the assembly as shown.

2.Remove the plastic belt cover on the front of the engine by removing the three self-tapping screws. See Figure 7-2.

Auger Belt Replacement

To remove and replace your snow thrower’s auger belt, proceed as follows:

1.Remove the bow tie clip and flat washer from the ferrule in order to disconnect the auger idler rod from the brake bracket assembly. See Figure 7-4.

3.Loosen the bolt shown in Figure 7-3 securing the belt keeper bracket and remove the other bolt. Push the belt keeper bracket up off the engine pulley.

NOTE: Make sure to maintain the location of the ferrule on the idler rod.

2.Slip the auger control belt (the front belt) off the engine pulley.
