Trouble Shooting

Cause

Problem Remedy

Engine fails to start 1. Blade contro l disengaged.
2. Spark plug wire d isconnected.
3. Fuel tank empty or s tale fuel.
4. Engine not primed ( if equipped with
primer).
5. Faulty spark plu g.
6. Blocked fuel li ne.
7. Engine floode d.
8. Fuel valve (if equip ped) closed.
9. Engine not choked ( if equipped w/choke) .
1. Engage blade co ntrol.
2. Connect wire to s park plug.
3. Fill tank with c lean, fresh gasoline.
4. Prime engine as in structed in “Operat-
ing Your Lawn Mower”.
5. Clean, adjust ga p, or replace.
6. Clean fuel line.
7. Wait a few minutes to restar t, but do
not prime.
8. Open fuel valve. See en gine manual.
9. Choke engine. See en gine manual.
Engine runs erratic 1. Connect and t ighten spark plug wire.
2. Clean fuel line ; fill tank with clean,
fresh gasoline.
3. Clear vent.
4. Drain fuel tank . Refill with fresh fuel.
