APPLICATION

When installed in forced air heating and cooling systems, the V-Flex kills airborne and surface microorganism contaminants. It is designed to be mounted in-duct for airborne, “on-the-fly” applications as well as surface irradiation applications. The design allows for many different levels of UV dosage. Proper dosage is affected by many factors, such as air temperature, velocity, and duct reflectivity. The space between supports (typically 32”) and the space between rows (typically 24” for surfaces and 12” to 18” for moving air streams) can be increased or reduced to adjust for dosage.

INSTALLATION

1.Read these instructions carefully. Failure to follow the instructions could damage the product or cause a hazardous condition.

2.Check the electrical rating given in the instructions and on the product to make sure the product is suitable for your application.

3.To avoid accidental exposure to ultraviolet light, the power supply to this product must be electrically interlocked. Interlock switches must be installed at any access panel or door within view of the UV fixtures.

4.The installer must be a trained, experienced service technician.

5.After installation is complete, check out product operation as provided in this guide.

6.If the HVAC system has been in use prior to installation, it is recommended that debris and buildup on coils and HVAC system surfaces be cleaned.
