The following topics address your phone’s data connections, the built-in Web browser, and

DATA SERVICES – 4G LTE AND 3G NETWORKS

You are ready to start enjoying the advantages of data services with Virgin Mobile. The following
topics will help you learn the basics of using your data services, including managing your user name,
launching a data connection, and navigating the Web with your phone.
When you turn on phone for the first time, it is automatically set up to use 4G LTE (if available in your
area) or 3G for data connection.
Important: Certain data services requests may require additional time to process. While your
phone is loading the requested service, the touchscreen may appear unresponsive when in fact
they are functioning properly. Allow the phone some time to process your data usage request.

Launch a Web Connection

Launching a Web connection is as simple as opening the browser on your phone.
n Touch > . Your data connection starts and you see the home page. You can change the
default home page. See Set Browser Options.
n Touch > > Mail or Messages. Open a message with a Web page link and then touch it.
Note: Additional browser options, such as Google Chrome™, may also be available on your phone.

Data Connection Status and Indicators

Your phone displays the current status of your data connection through indicators at the top of the
screen. The following symbols are used:
n Your phone is connected to the 4G LTE network. When the arrows are white, your phone is
transferring data (for example, when you are opening a Web page). When the arrows are gray ,
your phone is connected to the network but is not currently transferring data (for example, when
you are viewing a Web page that is completely open). In either state, you can receive incoming
calls.
n Your phone is connected to the 3G network. When the arrows are white, your phone is
