The symptoms of hyperthermia include an increase in the internal tempera- ture of the body, dizziness, lethargy, drowsi- ness and fainting. The effects of hyperther- mia include failure to perceive heat; failure to recognize the need to exit the spa or hot tub; unawareness of impending hazard; fetal damage in pregnant women; physical inabili- ty to exit the spa or hot tub and uncon- sciousness resulting in danger of drowning. WARNING: The use of alcohol, drugs or med- ication can greatly increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia.
