8.1.2.3 Self-Test

The Self-Testbutton starts a testing process that verifies the integrity of all PPP account information.

Error Messages:

Success – All stored information verified correctly.

Failure – An error was detected in the stored PPP account information. The information needs to be re- entered.

8.1.2.4 WebShare Proxy Router

This test button initiates a testing process that verifies management communications with the WebShare Proxy Router transceiver.

Error Messages:

In Service – The WebShare Proxy Router is synchronized with the central office Channel Unit and is ready to send/receive data.

Out of Service – The WebShare Proxy Router transceiver is NOT synchronized with the central office Channel Unit, but is functioning properly. (This could be caused by the connector cable not plugged into the WebShare Proxy Router or the access jack properly)

Failure – The WebShare Proxy Router transceiver is not functioning properly.

8.1.2.5 PPP Connection

This Test button initiates a testing process that verifies connectivity with the service provider’s Remote Access Server (RAS).

Error Messages:

Success – The WebShare Proxy Router has a verified connection with the ISP and is ready to send/receive data.

No PPP Connection – There is no link between the WebShare Proxy Router and the central office equipment.

Failure – A PPP session is active, but WebShare failed to get a response from the Remote Access Server.

8.1.2.6 IP Router

The Test button initiates a test that pings the remote IP address linked by the PPP session establishment.

Error Messages:

Success – A response was obtained from the remote IP address.
