CleaningYourRefrigerator

Both the refrigerator and freezer sections defrost automatically. But both should be cleaned about once a month to help prevent odors from building up. Spills should be wiped up right away.

To clean your refrigerator, turn the Refrigerator Control to OFF, unplug it, take out all removable parts and clean the refrigerator according to the following directions.

PART

Removable parts (shelves, crisper, meat drawer, etc.)

Outside

Inside walls (Freezer should be allowed to warm up so cloth won’t stick)

Door liners and gaskets

Plastic parts (covers and panels)

Defrost pan

Condenser coils

Floor under refrigerator

WHAT TO USE

lSponge or cloth l Mild detergent 0 Warm water

l Sponge, cloth or paper towel

lMifd detergent

. Warm water

l Appliance wax (or good auto paste wax)

l Sponge, soft cloth or paper towel

0 Baking soda or mild detergent

0 Warm water

l Sponge, soft cloth or paper towel

0 Soft, clean sponge or soft clean cloth

lMild detergent

0 Warm water

lSponge or cloth l Mild detergent 0 Warm water

l Vacuum cleaner with extended narrow attachment

HOW TO CLEAN

lWash.

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

l Wash outside of cabinet. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners.

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

l Wax painted metal surfaces at least twice a year. Apply wax with a clean, soft cloth.

Waxing painted metal surfaces provides rust orotection. Do not wax elastic Darts.

lWash with mixture of warm water and

-mild detergent, or

-baking soda (2 tablespoons [26 g] to 1 quart [.95 L] of water)

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

lWash.

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

DO NOT USE cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleaners containing petroleum on plastic parts.

lWash.

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

DO NOT USE paper towels, window sprays, scouring cleansers or flammable fluids. These can scratch or damage material. See

“Important Safety Instructions” on page 3.

l Remove base grille. (See page 6.)

lTo remove defrost pan, lift pan over wire brace (remove tape; if any).

l Wash defrost pan.

lRinse and dry thoroughly

l Replace with notched corner to the rear. Push it in all the way.

lMake sure defrost drain tube is pointing into pan.

l Replace base grille.

l Remove base grille.

l Vacuum coils at least every other month. l Replace base grille.

lRoll refrigerator out only as far as water supply lrne allows.

0 Clean floor.

l Roll refrigerator back into place

lCheck to see if the refrigerator is level.
