5. Use the T-handle Allen®wrench that is
included with the planer to remove the six
screws from the knife locking plate. See
Figure 18.
6. Use the included magnets to lift the locking
plate from the cutterhead and out of the
planer. See Figure 19.
7. Use the magnets to lift the knife from the
the cutterhead and out of the planer. See
Figure 20.
8. Carefully clean and inspect the cutterhead
with a rag and inspect for the following:
Make sure the threaded screw holes
contain no wood material or sawdust.
Make sure that the hex socket and the
threads of all Allen®screws are in good
condition. Replace if questionable.
Make sure any resin or glue build-up on
the cutterhead is removed so the knife
will sit flat on the cutterhead.

knife.
Make sure the knife is free of cracks. If
any cracks exist replace both knives.
Wear heavy leather gloves when working with
or near the cutterhead and planer knives. The
knives are dangerously sharp and serious
injury may occur.
NOTICE
To maintain accurate and consistent planing
results, Woodstock International Inc. does
not recommend sharpening the knives.
Replace the knives when they get dull.
