Sharpening Technique:

Regular maintenance of your WÜSTHOF-TRIDENTknives insures a lifetime of cooking pleasure.

With regular use, any knife’s edge will lose its “bite.” Under high magnification, you would see that the cutting edge itself actually consists of a row of tiny “teeth” which must be periodically realigned for optimum cutting performance.

The key to using a honing steel is holding the blade at a consistent 20 degree angle as you simulate the motion of the blade “shaving” off the surface of the honing steel itself. The “Tip Down” method shown here works best as it lets you always see the contact point of the knife and the steel.

At some point, any quality knife will require profes- sional sharpening performed on equipment not always available for home use. Consult your autho- rised WÜSTHOF-TRIDENTretailer for services in your area.

Yes, they are. However, we strongly recommend hand washing in warm, sudsy water and towel drying!

Cutlery specifications

Wusthof-Trident of America Cutlery is a name synonymous with quality, precision, and craftsmanship in the culinary world. Founded in 1814 in Solingen, Germany, Wusthof has spent over two centuries perfecting the art of knife-making. Their commitment to producing high-quality cutlery is evident in their extensive range of knives that cater to both professional chefs and home cooks alike.

One of the standout features of Wusthof knives is their exceptional manufacturing process. Each knife is forged from a single piece of high-carbon stainless steel, providing strength, durability, and a sharp edge that stands the test of time. The precision forging process ensures that the blades have the perfect balance, resulting in comfortable handling during use.

Technology plays a pivotal role in the crafting of Wusthof knives. The company employs advanced manufacturing techniques, including laser sharpening and precision grinding, to create blades that are razor-sharp right out of the box. This attention to detail is reflected in the cutting performance of the knives, allowing for effortless slicing, dicing, and chopping.

Wusthof also places a strong emphasis on ergonomics. The handles of their knives are designed to provide a secure and comfortable grip, reducing fatigue during prolonged use. Made from durable synthetic materials, the handles are resistant to heat and moisture, ensuring longevity and ease of maintenance.

Another significant characteristic of Wusthof is their commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. The company has implemented measures to reduce waste and energy consumption in their manufacturing processes, ensuring that the production of their knives is as environmentally responsible as possible.

Wusthof knives are available in a variety of lines, each offering unique features and designs. The Classic series is perhaps the most well-known, featuring a timeless design and a full tang construction that provides stability and balance. The Gourmet line offers a lighter-weight option while maintaining the high standards of quality associated with the brand. For those looking for contemporary aesthetics, the Wusthof Urban series combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design elements.

In conclusion, Wusthof-Trident of America Cutlery represents the pinnacle of knife-making excellence. With a rich history, innovative technologies, and a focus on quality and durability, Wusthof knives are a favorite among culinary enthusiasts.
