Connecting other components

To enhance your system, you can connect other components. Refer to the instructions of each component.

Connecting the KX-M5 (cassette deck) or MDX-M5 (MD deck)

1 Connect A to A, and B to B (for connecting the KX-M5), C to C, and D to D (for connecting the MDX-M5) using the audio connecting cords.

Insert the plugs into the jacks of the same color.

• The audio connecting cords are the same, so you can connect A, B, C, or D using either cord.

2 Connect the unit and the KX-M5 or MDX-M5 with the system cable.

3 (MDX-M5 only)

Connect the OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT jack of the unit and

the DIGITAL IN jack on the MDX-M5 with the optical fiber cable.

Note for digital connection

Take off the covers of the optical fiber cable plug, the OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT jack, and the DIGITAL IN jack before digital connection.

Be sure to replace the terminal’s cover when the terminal on the rear panel is not being used, in order to protect from dust.
