EDITING

One of the main advantages of MD is its editing capabilities. You can remove the commercials from a radio broadcast, reorder songs into the order you want, remove songs, combine songs, and even remove part of a song.

Edit functions

This unit offers the following editing operations.

(Please note that track numbers are updated automatically when you perform a MOVE, ERASE, COMBINE or DIVIDE operation.)

MOVE

Lets you move a track to a different track number.

ERASE

Lets you erase a track, the entire disc, or part of a track. You can also erase the title of a disc, or the titles of tracks on a disc.

COMBINE

Lets you combine two adjacent tracks.

DIVIDE

Lets you split a single track into two different tracks.

TOC WRITE

Lets you write TOC information to the disc so that changes are saved.

FRA CHECK

Lets you recover disc space that may have been lost after multiple edit operations.

UNDO

Lets you undo the previous edit operation if you make a mistake (you cannot, however, undo the UNDO function).

Note

After performing an edit operation, the TOC indicator lights to show that the TOC information has not yet been written to the disc. Undo is possible only when the TOC indicator is lit.

However, if you perform a recording operation (by pressing REC, TIME, or SYNC), UNDO is not possible even if the TOC indicator is lit.

MOVE

This function lets you change the position of any track. First, select the track you want to move, then specify the track number you want to move it to. After the move, the tracks located between the old and new positions are renumbered automatically. You can perform this operation repeatedly to completely reorder the disc.
