To store stations with names of your own giving

You can store a station with a name of your own giving. As many as 8 letters and/or numerals can be selected for the naming. By using this function, you can easily find a certain station even if you are not sure of that station’s frequency.

You can give names to all preset stations.

1 Tune to a desired station.

In FM reception:

A station name is displayed or “NO PS” flashes.

*If “NO PS” flashes, proceed to the next step while flashing. If “NO PS” disappears before proceeding to the next step, press the FREQ/PS/PTY button again.

In AM reception:

“– – – – – – – –” flashes on the display.

4 Select the first letter or numeral to be memorized.

*By turning the TUNING control, the display will change letters and numerals in sequence.

5 When the desired letter or numeral appears, press the SHIFT button to proceed to the selection of the next letter or numeral.

FREQ/PS/PTY ENTER

“A” will flash on the second letter or numeral position.

6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the other letters and/or numerals, if necessary.

7 After the naming is finished, follow steps 2–4 of “To store stations” on the previous page.

Note

If you store a name to an RDS station which has PS data, the name of your giving takes priority and is shown on the display.
