Printer Self-Tests

The Z Series™ printer is designed to work with most Zebra media and ribbon combinations, right out of the box. However, in some applica- tions, changes to the printer’s configuration and mechanical settings may be required. For these situations, printer self-test labels can be used to check print quality and insure proper operation.

These self-tests produce sample printouts and provide specific informa- tion which helps determine the operating conditions for the printer. Each self-test is enabled by pressing a specific Front Panel key or com- bination of keys while turning the AC Power Switch ON. Keep the key(s) pressed until the first front panel LED turns OFF. Once the Power-On Self Test is completed, the selected self test begins automati- cally.

NOTES: Prior to performing self-tests, disconnect all data interface cables from the printer.

When canceling a self-test prior to its actual completion, always turn the printer power OFF and then back ON to restart the printer.
