TROUBLESHOOTING

ENGINE WILL NOT START

C A U S E

A C T I O N

On/Off Stop Control in the STOP position

Turn the On/Off Stop Control to START

Empty fuel tank

Fill fuel tank

Primer bulb wasn't pressed enough

Press primer bulb fully and slowly 5-7 times

Engine flooded

Use starting procedure with choke control in the

 

RUN position, Pg. 12

Old or improperly mixed fuel

Drain fuel tank / Add fresh fuel mixture

Fouled spark plug

Replace or clean the spark plug

ENGINE WILL NOT IDLE

Air Filter is Plugged

Replace or clean the air filter

Old or improperly mixed fuel

Drain fuel tank / Add fresh fuel mixture

Improper carburetor adjustment

Adjust per instruction Pg. 16

ENGINE WILL NOT ACCELERATE

ENGINE LACKS POWER OR STALLS WHEN UNDER LOAD

Drain fuel tank / Add fresh fuel mixture

Improper carburetor adjustment

Take to an authorized service dealer for

 

carburetor adjustment

Cultivator tines bound with dirt or grass

Stop the unit, switch the On/Off Stop Control to

 

STOP, clean and remove any debris binding the tines
