TO START THE ENGINE

Never run engine indoors or in enclosed, poor ventilated areas, engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, an

odorless and deadly gas.

1.Open the fuel shut-off valve.

2.Move the choke control located on the engine to the “Choke” position.

NOTE: No choke is required on warm engines. make sure choke is in the “RUN” position on warm engine starts.

3. For Electric Start:Push OFF\RUN\START switch on control panel to the "START" position to start engine. Hold in "START" position no longer than 15 seconds per minute when trying to start engine. Extended cranking can damage the starter motor.

NOTE: When the engine starts the OFF/RUN/START switch is released into the RUN position.

For Recoil Start:Place OFF/RUN/START switch in the RUN position. Grasp handle on rope rewind slowly. Pull rope with a rapid full arm stroke. Let rope rewind slowly. Repeat if necessary.

4.When engine starts, gradually move the choke to the "NO Choke" position.

NOTE: IF ENGINE OIL LEVEL IS TOO LOW, ENGINE WILL NOT START. CHECK OIL LEVEL AND ADD IF NECESSARY.

IMPORTANT: Allow generator to run at no load for 5 minutes upon each initial start-up to allow engine and generator to stabilize.
