2.3 Remote control unit

1OPEN/CLOSE key

Opens and closes the disc tray (equivalent to 3).

2Number keys (0 through 10 and +10)

Use these keys for direct entry of track numbers when playing back, or making a programmed play list.

3CLEAR key

Use this key to clear a mistaken entry made with the number keys.

4REPEAT key

Use this key to change between the various repeat modes when playing back (see 3.3, “Repeat play”).

5DISPLAY key

Use this key to switch between the different display modes available (equivalent to A).

DRECORD key

Use this key to enter record ready mode (equivalent to J).

ESYNC REC key

Use this key to turn synchronized recording on and off (equivalent to K). See 4.3.1, “Synchronized recording” for details).

FREC MUTE key

Use this key when recording, to mute the input signal for about four seconds and then to enter record ready mode (see 4.3.4, “Rec mute function”).

GSEARCH keys

Use these keys to move the playback position inside a track.

HSKIP keys

Use these keys to move between tracks when playing back (equivalent to turning B). They are also used to set the parameter values, etc.

6MENU key

Repeated presses of this key cycle through the differ- ent menu items used to set parameters (equivalent to 9).

7ENTER key

Pressing this key is equivalent to pressing the MULTI DIAL control B to confirm an entry.

8FADER key

Use this key to start fade-in recordings or to start a fade-out when recording (equivalent to 5).

9MONITOR key

Use this key to output the signals received at the cur- rently selected input(s) through the outputs when not recording or in record ready mode.

APLAY MODE key

Use this key to choose between the different play- back modes (single play, continue play, etc.).

BFINALIZE key

Use this key to finalize recordable discs. See 1.2, “Finalizing” and 5.1, “Finalizing” for details (equiva- lent to E).

CERASE key

Use this key (with CD-RW discs only) to erase tracks, or a whole disc, or to refresh a “bad” disc, or to unfinalize a finalized disc. See 5.2, “Erasing” for details (equivalent to F).

ISTOP key

Use this key to stop playback or recording (equiva- lent to G).

JPAUSE key

Use this key to pause playback or recording (equiva- lent to I).

KCALL key

Used to start playback from the last pause position before playback starts (equivalent to L).

LPLAY key

Use this key to start playback, or enter record mode from record ready mode (equivalent to H).

2.4 Connections

The following should be noted when you connect the unit to other equipment.

NOTE

Do not connect or disconnect audio or other equipment to or from the CD-RW2000 while power is supplied to the units. Always turn off the power when connecting or dis- connecting units.

It is possible to connect the unit’s DIGITAL AES/EBU IN W, DIGITAL COAXIAL IN X and DIGITAL OPTICAL IN Y to other equipment at the same time. However, the unit can receive signals from only one digital input at a time.
