MAINTENANCE

BATTERY PACK REMOVAL AND PREPARATION FOR RECYCLING

Stop the motor.

Install padlock (not included) into switch trigger slot. Keep both hands away from switch.

Hold one wheel while turning other wheel counterclockwise to remove wheel.

Remove wheel and remaining attached wheel and axle.

Remove the screws securing motor housing cover, then remove cover.

Lift batteries from motor housing enough to expose leads and battery terminals.

Disconnect the red lead from the battery by pulling apart as shown.

Disconnect the black lead from the battery by pulling apart as shown.

NOTE: Be careful not to break battery leads when disconnecting them.

Remove the battery for disposal.

Remove padlock from switch trigger slot.

To preserve natural resources, please recycle or dispose of batteries properly.

This product contains nickel-cadmium batteries. Local, state or federal laws may prohibit disposal of batteries in

ordinary trash.

Consult your local waste authority for information regarding available recycling and/or disposal options.

WARNING:

Upon removal, cover the battery pack’s terminals with heavy-duty adhesive tape. Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble battery pack or remove any of its components. Nickel-cadmium batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly. Also, never touch both terminals with metal objects and/or body parts as short circuit may result. Keep away from children. Failure to comply with these warnings could result in fire and/or serious injury.

BATTERIES

This product is equipped with a nickel-cadmium rechargeable battery. Length of service from each charging will depend on the type of work you are doing.

The battery in this product has been designed to provide maximum trouble-free life. However, like all batteries, it will eventually wear out.

To obtain the longest possible battery life, we suggest removing the product from the charger once it is fully charged and ready for use.

STORing the Grass shear/shrubber

See Figure 10.

Install padlock (not included) into switch trigger slot.

Clean all foreign material from the grass shear/shrubber. Store indoors in a dry, locked up place—out of the reach of children. Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts.

Always place the sheath or scabbard on the cutting blades before transporting or storing the unit.

Store the product where the temperature is below 80°F.

Store the product in a “discharged” condition.
