Operating Tips

For most efficient snow removal, remove snow immediately after it falls.

Discharge snow downwind whenever possible. Slightly overlap each previous swath.

Set the slide shoes 1/4” below the shave plate for normal usage. The slide shoes may be adjusted to low position, see Figure for hard-packed snow.

NOTE: It is not recommended that you operate this snowthrower on gravel as loose gravel can be easily picked up and thrown by the auger causing personal injury, property damage and/or damage to your snowthrower.

If for some reason, you have to operate the snowthrower on gravel, keep the slide shoe in the highest position for maximum clearance between the ground and the shave plate.

Be certain to follow the precautions listed under “To

Stop Engine” to prevent possible freeze-up.

Clean the snowthrower thoroughly after each use.

Clean-Out Tool

WARNING: Never use your hands to clear a clogged chute assembly. Shut off engine and remain behind handles until all moving parts have stopped before unclogging.

Release both the auger control and the drive/auger control lock.

Stop the engine.

Remove the clean-out tool from the mounting clip.

Use the shovel-shaped end of the clean-out tool to remove any snow and ice in the chute assembly.

Re-fasten the clean-out tool to the mounting clip on the rear of the auger housing and restart engine.

While standing in the operator’s position (behind the snow thrower), engage the auger control for a few seconds to clear any remaining snow or ice from the chute assembly before continuing to clear snow.
