Updating Firmware

The Firmware Update window allows you to update your Print Server’s firmware (the mechanism that controls your Print Server’s hardware). Click Login Settings > Firmware Update to access the Firmware Update window.

To check for a firmware update, access this website www.motorola.com/broadband/networking. New firmware can be found under the "Support and Downloads" link.

To update the firmware:

1Download the latest firmware file to your computer from the Motorola website. Note the location where you downloaded the file.

2Click Control Panel > Firmware Update to access the Firmware Update window:

3To locate the file you downloaded, type the path to the file or click Browse and navigate to it.

4Click Update to update the router with the selected firmware file. A dialog box is displayed asking to continue.

5Click OK to continue. When the firmware upgrade completes, a dialog box appears:

Check that the LAN or Wireless LED is illuminated on your WPS870G and click OK. Log back on to the WPS870G by entering the WPS870G’s IP address.

If you encounter trouble restarting the unit, press the Restore button for 5 seconds to reset it to its default settings. See Test Print and Restore Button for further details.
