•IDE HDD
•IDE Primary/Secondary Master/Slave: We recommand that you select “AUTO” for all drives. The BIOS can automatically detect the specifications during POST while the
system boots. You can also choose “Manual” to set the specifications yourself. “None” indicates that there is no device installed on this IDE channel.
•Access Mode: “Normal”, “LBA”, “Large”, or “Auto”.
- Normal: Maximum number of cylinders, heads, and sectors supported are 1024, 16, and 63 respectively.
-LBA (Logical Block Addressing): During drive access, the IDE controller transforms the data address described by sector, head, and cylinder number into a physical block address. This will significantly improve data transfer rates for drives with more than 1024 cylinders.
-Large: For drives that do not support LBA and have more than 1024 cylinders.
-Auto: The BIOS automatically determines the optimal access mode.
•Capacity: Disk drive capacity. Note that this size is slighty greater than the size of a formatted disk given by a
